Naturalization of Ethnic Greeks (for Ukrainians under temporary protection in Greece)
KEY CONDITIONS:
Temporary Protection status in Greece.
Permanent residence in Greece.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
Original Birth Certificate with Apostille.
Original Marriage Certificate with Apostille (if applicable).
Original Birth Certificates of parents with Apostille.
Certificates of relatives that can prove ethnic origin/nationality.
Police clearance certificate from Ukraine with Apostille.
Paid administrative fee — 100€.
Additionally, you must provide: a certificate of permanent residence in Greece, a lease agreement or a tax statement of property ownership (E9), tax returns, an employment contract, and any other documents confirming your stay in Greece.
Children and Education
Children born in Greece, as well as children who have attended a Greek school for a certain number of years, may be eligible for citizenship. This also applies to minors whose parents are legal residents of the country.
KEY CONDITIONS:
Legal residence of at least one parent in Greece for at least 5 years BEFORE the child’s birth;
At least one parent must hold a LONG-TERM residence permit;
Completion of Greek schooling;
Birth in Greece.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
Child’s Birth Certificate;
Parents’ Marriage Certificate;
Residence permits and passports of both parents;
Certificate of enrollment in the first grade and/or school attendance certificate;
